Leeds is not as well known as Liverpool or Manchester but it is definitely worth taking a closer look at. Once a city known for its manufacturing plants, Leeds has been transformed into a thriving metropolis that is cosmopolitan and boasts many bars, cafes and riverside shops and is now one of the most popular destinations in the UK for stag weekends. Leeds has a large plethora of students thanks to its two major universities as well as other smaller equally viable learning institutions. Many southern cities discourage groups when it comes to nightlife but in Leeds bars and pubs extend an enthusiastic invitation to large gatherings.
